The Mexia Bass Club met for its regularly scheduled meeting at the Library on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at 7:00 pm.  The president, Buddy Borden, called the meeting to order and read the minutes which were approved as read.  Larry Renfrow delivered the financial statement, reporting that all bills have been paid and the club has $3058.22 in the bank.

No old business was presented.

Checks for the December tournament at Lake Limestone were passed out by Buddy Bordan.  Winners of the  December tournament were distributed checks with winners as follows:

December 2009 tournament at Lake Limestone:

First Place:  Craig Heineman and Wayne Loven with 12.30 pounds

Second Place:  Gale Cate and Jason Cate with 9.32 pounds

Third Place:  Corey Ferguson and Larry Renfrow with 4.53

Big Bass: Corey Ferguson weighing in the big bass with a 4.53 pound bass

The fish were caught on worms in 6-10 feet of water.

In new business, the lake for the next tournament was discussed.  The lakes suggested were Stillhouse, Fairfield, and Trading House.  The Club voted for Fairfield.  Times were set at 7:00 am - 3:00 pm at the back ramp in the State Park.  The weigh masters will be Wayne Loven for Saturday and the person who signed up first for Sunday.

Suggested changes in the by-laws were discussed and voted on. The approved changes are:

1. Decided what month the traveling two-day tournaments would be voted on:  vote for the location of the April tournament in February and the October tournament in August.

3.  Instead of picking a weigh master, the first person to sign up on Saturday and Sunday will be the weigh master.

4.  Changed the by-laws from getting one pound for attending a meeting to awarding one pound for paying to fish the tournament (slight wording change from fishing the tournament to paying for the tournament).

The Club voted on a slate of officers for the 2010 year.  The Club voted unanimously to have current officers continue in their posts for another year.

A member suggested that starting in January a ticket for each  member who attends at least 9 meetings will be awarded a ticket.  At the end of the year, there will be a drawing of a single ticket for a gift certificate for $250.  The Club voted on this suggested and it passed.

The junior angler of the year was announced last meeting.  Heath Irwinsky, who had 3.44 pounds of fish, will win an award for this achievement.

Kangaroo court assessed assessed no fines.

Meeting was adjourned.

Results of the January Tournament at Lake Fairfield, January 9-10, 2010

January 2010 tournament at Lake Fairfied:

The tournament resulted in an “all-way” tie among all fishermen.  No fish were weighed in either day!  This is unverified since no weigh-in sheets were given to the Secretary.
